• Why Cane?

Cane furniture offers a long term decor solution to your conservatory, summer room, orangery, living room or dining room that won’t compromise on style, and will stand up to the test of time. The top quality cane used in all of our furniture ranges provides the ideal material for conservatory use as it is natural, flexible, isn’t sensitive to humidity and is easy to care for and maintain. When coupled with easily removable cushions made from fabrics that are equally easy to look after, a cane furniture suite could be the final piece of the puzzle.

  • How Do I Look After Cane Furniture?

Maintenance on garden and conservatory furniture can often be difficult, as suites spend long periods of time in direct sunlight. The benefits of cane furniture over leather or upholstered suites primarily come from its durability in the sun. Provided that the cane is kept moist the furniture has a long life expectancy, and a full suite can be given a new lease of life with replacement cushions or new fabrics at any stage in the future.

  • What Does A Suite Consist Of?

The suites and ranges that we have available vary in terms of the products included, so that you can pick the products to fit perfectly within your home. By selecting only the items that work best for you, you can make the most of your interior space and create a truly personal furniture collection.

  • Can I Wash The Fabrics?

Most of the fabrics that we provide are dry clean only, but Aquaclean fabrics are available that simply require sponging in order to clean. We do not recommend hand or machine washing fabrics, as over time this can affect the flame-retardancy of the product.

  • Do The Fabrics Fade Over Time?

The colour of the fabrics may be affected if in contact with direct sunlight for extended periods of time, but this often tends to be marginal. Almost all of the cushions that we provide are interchangeable across ranges, and replacement items are available.

  • Do You Have A Showroom?

Our showroom is based in Swindon and is open Monday-Friday and Sundays with prior arrangement. Here you can look through our range of cane furniture suites to find the perfect one for your home. We have one of the UK’s widest selections, so we guarantee you will find something you love.

  • Can Cane Chairs Come Without Cushions?

They can do, however it’s not always recommended. Our springpad cushions will help to distribute weight more evenly, which takes the pressure off individual cane strands. This will improve the longevity of the chair, as well as providing you with enhanced comfort.

  • What Is The Life Expectancy Of Cane Furniture?

When properly treated, our cane furniture will remain in amazing shape for up to 30 years. They’re remarkably low maintenance, so you won’t have to worry about constant aftercare.

  • Can Cane Furniture Be Used Outside?

Yes, we have a range of outdoor cane furniture that is perfect for your garden. Cane is far less porous than rattan so that it can withstand damp conditions and light rain. Enjoy your outdoor space all year round with our products.

  • Is Cane Biodegradable?

Absolutely! Since it’s harvested directly from the wild and doesn’t need to be refined, cane is a naturally occurring material. Once our cane furniture eventually reaches the end of its lifespan, the unit doesn’t need to end up in a landfill. Invest in a sustainable range of furniture for your property.

  • Where Does Cane Come From?

Cane is derived from the Rattan plant by splitting the stem to access the natural stem of fibre within. This durable material is flexible as well as strong, making it ideal for weaving complex, intricate patterns to give your home an elegant touch.

  • Why Should I Choose You?

  • Can I Paint My Cane Furniture?

If you decide you want to add a new coat of paint to your cane furniture, you’ll want to use an oil or latex based paint. Brush gently to remove dust and loose fragments, and check that the cane is dry before commencing. Always make sure you start with the underside, and ensure your space is well ventilated!

  • How Is Cane Furniture Made?

Once the cane has been split from the rattan vine, it doesn’t need to be processed or refined to be ready for use in cane furniture. This means it’s fully organic and natural. Our experts will then weave it into intricate, beautiful shapes to create unique tables, chairs and sofa units.
